Feedback and Encouragement / What puts you in the mood for writing?
« on: March 07, 2018, 09:07:52 PM »
I am interested, are there things that you do it your life that always, sometimes or at least occasionally put you in the mood for writing, or at least make it possible to sit down and put pen to page/fingers to keyboard?

Some things that make me feel inspired (at least some of the time) are:
Jumping into the sea or having a cold shower (today I got to have a swim in the sea in the pouring rain - double whammy)
Going for a walk
Messing around with paint, pastels or clay
Looking at art
Caffeine (I don't do this very often now, but it works well when I do. Just makes me feel crappy later)

What about you guys?

Feedback and Encouragement / Logical poem
« on: February 28, 2018, 01:12:01 PM »
OK, here is my supposedly 'logical' poem.

Writing Poetry

if the earth was the size of a grape
and you touched it
lightly
you would be able to feel the difference
between the pine tree and the fish and chip shop
that’s how sensitive
your fingertips are

and when the world is the size of a grape
and I drop it
accidentally
on the supermarket floor
I can feel the stickiness left behind
that’s how sensitive

and when Tuesday is tissue paper
and I try to smooth it out
carefully
I can still feel wrinkles as small
as 13 nanometres thick
that’s how

impossible it is
to get everything
just right

Who We Are / Who is Antelope?
« on: December 11, 2017, 09:48:03 AM »
You can call me Ant.
I'm excited to be here!

Some of my favourite things are making big messy artworks and then refining them, writing poems with ants in them, dancing, and having a sleep under a tree.
I'm a student, so I don't get much time to read (apart from books for uni), but it's the summer holidays now and I've just started to read Zorro by Isabelle Allende which I am enjoying. I always fall asleep in movies.
