a little shakespearean inspired sunset
« on: February 23, 2018, 03:52:18 PM »
The moons are rising in the sky
Late though the day has become
Their pale livery
Still jaded in jealousy
Of the glorious sun

The clouds are shrinking into the horizon
Where marigolds and bluebells brush against each other
To paint the sky
Like a  garden, wild and full of colour

The green of the treetops frames the skies
A flash of emerald falls
And floats
Daintily as if weightless
It weaves its way in sweet cadences between browns and dappled blue of shadowed foliage
To land soft amongst its fallen friends

The grass is singing, singing, singing,
Of beings long past who have since sunk beneath
Their footsteps only whispered memories
Their bones only rumour
Crisp white conjecture
Of a time long forgotten
